Who we are
This website is run by First Electrical Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales under number 13451566. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us, such as when you fill in our enquiry form or call us. This may include:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your postcode or address, if you give it;
- details of the work you’re asking about and anything else you include in your message.
When you send the form, our hosting provider also processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the website securely and to protect the form against spam.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and give you a quotation;
- arrange, carry out and certify any work you ask us to do;
- keep the records we are required to keep, such as electrical certificates, invoices and accounts.
We don’t use your information for marketing, and we never sell it or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Our legal basis
- Taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing a contract: replying to enquiries, quoting and carrying out work.
- Legal obligation: keeping certification, tax and accounting records.
- Legitimate interests: keeping our website secure and protecting the enquiry form from abuse.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to, with:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website, delivers form submissions to us by email, and provides Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that the form is being sent by a person rather than a bot;
- our email provider, where your enquiry is stored once it reaches us;
- building control or a competent person scheme, where we have to notify electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations;
- our accountant, and anyone we are legally required to share information with.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
If you make an enquiry but don’t go ahead, we keep your details for up to 12 months in case you come back to us, then delete them. If we carry out work for you, we keep job records and certificates for at least six years, and electrical certificates for as long as they may be needed to show the installation is safe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong;
- ask us to delete your information, or to stop or limit using it, where we don’t need to keep it;
- object to how we use your information.
